The Paddywack Story

Established in 1988 and acquired by Bill and Pamela Slocum in 1993 Paddywack Promotional Products is a locally owned and operated Canberra business that has enjoyed consistent growth over the past 18 years in the government, private, schools and non profit sectors.

Operating from an office and extensive showroom in Fyshwick, we offer a complete range of customised & branded promotional products to specifically target those you want to reach.  We welcome clients to come and discuss their needs and go through products & concepts in the showroom or for the time poor we can make an appointment to visit you and create a promotional plan for your brand free of charge.

Bill Slocum

I am a long time Canberra resident and began my working life in a variety of positions in commercial radio with a 15 year career at 2CC.
In 1990 I eventually became tired of listening to records ( not really ) and it was time for a change. After a couple of years “finding myself”  I took the leap into the Promotional Products industry with the purchase of Paddywack.

Hard to believe, but that was over 20 years ago and we are still here. Definitely something to be proud of and a credit to great customers, great suppliers and of course great staff ( past and present ).

I have always been focussed on providing the best products for our clients and have become an expert on just about all of them, even plastic bags.
When I am not at work I am usually at home with the always expanding family or at the golf course.

The biggest change in the industry I have seen over the past 25 years ? Well 15 years ago we competed with other Canberra based business’s, now we compete with the world…….

Jason Segrott

I’m our senior account manager and I have over 12 years experience in the promotional industry in both the distributor & supplier sides of the business.  Previously I was National Sales Manager at Bottles of Australia for 5 years where my passion for cycling definitely came in handy.  So if you want to know anything about drink bottles then I’m the guy to ask!

I’ve been at Paddywack for over 7 years now & look after most of our larger accounts & new business opportunities.   I’m also pretty handy with Adobe Illustrator so I create a lot of the concepts & mock ups we do for our clients so if you have some ideas but don’t know how they’ll translate to being branded on a physical product then I can help.

When I’m not in the office chances are I’m either enjoying time with my 3 little ones, riding my bike or wandering around a trout stream somewhere with a fly rod in my hand.

Alison Slocum

Alison has recently joined the team as General Manager and will also being taking care of the day to day accounts which will be a nice change for both our suppliers and customers as we have not had a full time accounts person for over 6 years.

This isn’t the first time I have been in family business as I was the Production and Clients Services Manager for over four years at our sister company Ideas and Directions Advertising Agency. More recently I have spent two years in the finance industry and have also held many retail and customer service positions, which have helped me develop a well-rounded set of skills that I believe will help me to excel in this new role.

I have a great love for travel and had lived a year each in both Belfast, Northern Ireland and Alberta, Canada (living on a Turkey Farm!). I have driven across America twice, seen a lot of Europe and the UK….. I could go on and on. When I am not at work or planning my next adventure I am spending time with my friends and family and spoiling my niece and two nephews.

Nikki Driscoll

Nikki looks after our admin & production side of things with a bit of a helping hand on the sales side also. She has been with Paddywack for 9 years now making her our longest serving staff member.

She’s responsible for quoting, orders & dealing with our suppliers & decorators to make sure our clients jobs arrive on time.

Paddywack Promotional Products have been Corporate Partners of Karinya House for over 15 Years. As a community based, not for profit organisation in Canberra, supporting pregnant and early parenting women, our Corporate Partners are highly valued and we commend PPP on their demonstrated community support and corporate citizenship. The professional support and advice also provided by the team at PPP (specifically Bill and more recently, Alison) has been outstanding. We have been using PPP more extensively in recent years as our organisation has grown, in regard to the supply of fundraising branded merchandise, as well as the supply of ID cards. Working with Alison is a dream! Excellence in professional expertise and advice is a given with Alison and where necessary, Bill provides his additional words of wisdom and experience. Jason had great advice and it cost a lot less than I thought, very happy with the service. The USB sticks, power banks and mini speakers were well received by our suppliers. Went back two weeks later and ordered some reusable coffee cups a pens. Couldn't be happier with the products and service.
